Elegant same-sex wedding in Greece

If Mykonos is one of the favorite destinations for gay nightlife and trendy beaches, Santorini is the perfect setting for intimate and romantic moments. There are many couples who choose Santorini for their wedding, and among them there are obviously same-sex couples. One of them, from United States, decided to meet with relatives and friends to celebrate their love in an elegant venue with a breathtaking view. From the beginning, we agreed on the wedding style: refined, modern and strictly masculine.

An impressive spot overlooking the Caldera for the ceremony and the reception

Our atelier has been commissioned by the couple for the complete design of the event, planning and decoration. «In this way - Fabio observes - we were able to guarantee a unity of style that included the choice of venue, the proposal of the menu for the banquet, the entertainment, the photographer and the videographer».
The venue we recommended was the San Antonio hotel in Imerovigli, Santorini: a wonderful location, where the couple stayed with all their guests, enjoying precious moments of relaxation with friends before the wedding. The venue is located in an extremely picturesque location, overlooking the caldera; it has a large terrace where the wedding ceremony was set up, while the reception took place around the infinity pool. The hotel blends with the surrounding landscape: a mix of white architectures and volcanic stone walls, with bright touches of fuchsia buganvilleas.

Green peppers and gomphocarpus, as well as spathiphyllum flowers with their erect spadix - provocatively allusive to phallic forms - gave to the decoration a young and impertinent touch...

The decoration of the event was characterized by the choice of a modern and masculine design, conceived for a couple of young professionals, sensitive to fashion trends. The color palette chosen by Fabio had a very special flower selection: on the one hand, classic roses in ivory and lilac tones, on the other the ornithogalum with its characteristic black button and the veronica, the aspidistra and the green amaranth; green peppers and gomphocarpus, as well as spathiphyllum flowers with their erect spadix - provocatively allusive to phallic forms - gave a young and impertinent touch that aroused the appreciation of many guests and some salacious joke.
For the wedding arch of the ceremony Fabio has chosen a classic, natural poise to imitate a whimsical climbing plant from which branched off, like arrows, white and purple gladiolus stalks. The decoration was completed by four arrangements of slender shape placed on white pedestals, and by elegant aisle markers in the same flower selection. The contrast with the blue background of the sea and the sky was really impressive and stylish.

The setting of the reception was conceived with a long horseshoe-shaped table around the pool: in this way the guests could feel all together and share these lighthearted moments with the couple. The table decoration consisted of a mirrored table runner on which modern flower arrangements and candles were arranged. All tarrangements were different from each other, personally made by Fabio Zardi with his unmistakable creativity.

For the bar and the sweet table, we provided other arrangements in the same style. Sober menus and placemarks, along with a seating chart and a cocktail list in silver frame, accompanied the overall design of the event.
